Pink Oyster Mushroom - PICKUP AND LOCAL DELIVERY ONLY

Pleurotus djamor. The pink oyster is a showstopper with its brilliant hue. Its strong, though sweet flavor is slightly meaty and reminiscent of fresh lobster.  Its texture tends toward the delicate, so it is best cooked briefly and at hot temperatures. Pink oysters become delightfully crisp when fried, making them an excellent vegetarian bacon alternative. They are also delicious simply sauteed with a nice olive oil and seasoned with fresh herbs. Once harvested, this mushroom has such a short shelf life (3-4 days) that it is rarely found in supermarkets. So, for best results cook immediately!
